"Attractive convict" sues over use of mug shot

Tampa, Florida -- Nearly a year after 10 News met the face of the infamous and widely-known "hot mug shot" meme, it's been reported that she is now suing a website who played a part in her publicity.

In April of 2013, 10 News sat down with Meagan Simmons, then 27, as she explained the story behind her mug shot, and how she felt years later when it went viral. 

16 rescued from roller coaster after malfunction

Tampa, Florida -- There were some tense moments more than 60 feet up on Wednesday when Cheetah Hunt, Busch Gardens newest and most celebrated roller coaster, got stuck.

Tampa Fire Rescue was called in to rescue 16 trapped riders.

"They were at an angle probably 30 degrees, so just unbuckling them caused anxiety for both the passengers and our people, but [we] were able to put a nice harness on them, get them into the buckets, and lower them down to the ground," said Tampa Fire Special Ops Chief Emilio Salabarria.

Fast food chain to serve Valentine's Day meals

Tampa, Florida-- Valentine's Day reservations are pouring in for a local restaurant, but it might come as a surprise as to which one.

Two local fast food restaurants are filling up their reservations list for V-Day... McDonalds in Tampa. 

"We really want everybody to enjoy Valentine's- that's the main idea," said a store manager at a Dale Mabry location, Ernesto Izquierdo. 

He said his guest services manager came up with the idea.

Elderly woman jailed for feeding bears

SEBRING, Florida (AP) - An 81-year-old Sebring woman has been arrested after authorities say she continued to feed wildlife in violation of a probation order, then fought with a state agent and deputy sheriff as they took her into custody.

The News Sun reports that Mary H. Musselman was arrested Wednesday after the agent found trays with bird seed and corn in Musselman's yard.

Local school secretary mistaken for sex escort


Tampa, Florida-- She's 60-years-old, and got nailed with this message.

"Julia, let me know when, where. I'm downtown. My phone's about to die so hurry."

And this one.

"Hi, I saw your post. I'm interested. I'm in town for a business trip and I'm wondering if you're available."

These are sex texts, and they were sent to 60-year-old Nancy Caldwell, a secretary at a Tampa Bay elementary School, but Nancy didn't place the ad.

At first, she thought it was a gag, but it was no joke.

Tampa woman's number linked to escort ad

TAMPA, Florida (AP) - A Tampa woman says she's the victim of a really bad wrong number.

The 60-year-old secretary at Thonotosassa Elementary School says she was recently inundated with text messages from men wanting to meet her.
