Tampa intersection closed for water main repair

Tampa, Florida -- The Tampa Water Department has announced the intersection of East 17th Avenue and North 20th Street is completely closed while crews work to repair a broken water main.

All westbound traffic on 17th Avenue is being detoured north at 22nd Street to 21st Avenue, west on 21st Avenue to 14th Street/Avenida Republica de Cuba, and south on 14th Street to Columbus Drive.

Marked local detours are in place for all through traffic approaching this intersection from 20th Street.

Tampa, Florida-- The eastbound State Road 60 (southbound Memorial Highway) ramp to southbound I-275 (onto the Howard Frankland Bridge towards St. Petersburg) will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5.

FDOT informed us of the following detour: Continue under I-275, turn right onto Kennedy Boulevard (at the traffic signal by Westshore Plaza) and continue to the end and use the Kennedy Boulevard ramp to southbound I-275.

Travelers are suggested to plan accordingly and leave plenty of travel time!

Road Closure: S Willow between Platt and Azeele Streets

Tampa, Florida-- As of 3:30 this afternoon, both directions of South Willow Avenue are closed between W Platt and Azeele Streets while theTampa Water Department crews repair a broken water main.

Repairs, accordint to the Water Department, are expected to be completed by late tonight.

Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume by 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30, following road restoration, depending on weather conditions.

Barricades and signs are located in the area to assist with traffic flow, and the department suggests drivers to seek alternate routes.

County issues flood warning for Wesley Chapel area

Wesley Chapel, Florida -- The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Flood Warning for Pasco County near Cypress Creek at Worthington Gardens near Wesley Chapel.

According to the NWS, the river at Cypress Creek at Worthington Gardens could remain above the eight foot minor flood stage level (8.8 feet) until Friday, July 27.

The County’s Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at 4444 Grand Avenue (Corner of Grand and Trouble Creek Road), New Port Richey is open to assist residents. It’s open Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 6:00 p.m.
