New Tampa motorist alert

Tampa, Florida -- Starting late Sunday evening around 9:00 p.m. into Monday early morning, the Florida Department of Transportation is advising they'll be shifting traffic patterns around the I-275 and I-75 northbound merge where construction is underway on the ramp to SR 56.

Items for consideration include proposed infrastructure improvements and amendments to zoning and land use regulations to allow commercial development within the Laura Street redevelopment area.

Plant City, FL -- It's not much but gas is a few cents cheaper than last week.

In this economy every penny counts.

Some stations in area are charging up to $3.59 a gallon but that's on the high end.

Public Meeting: Valrico Rd. & Sydney Rd. improvements

Valrico, FL -- Next week, Hillsborough County will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed improvements at the intersection of Valrico Road and Sydney Road.

The county wants residents to give their input.

County staff will be at the meeting to discuss the details of the project and answer any questions residents may have.

Temple Terrace, FL -- The Temple Terrace Police Department is hosting a multi-agency Comprehensive Roadside Safety Checkpoint this Thursday night, March 17 starting at 11 p.m.

The safety effort will include the Temple Terrace Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the University of South Florida Police Department.

Courtney Campbell boat ramp closed April 12

Tampa, Florida - Hillsborough County's Courtney Campbell Parkway Boat Ramp, on the south side of State Road 60 on Tampa Bay, will be closed to the public on Tuesday, April 12, from approximately 6 a.m. to noon, to allow the Tampa International Airport and the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport to conduct an FAA required mass casualty exercise.
