Think you're good at dodgeball, prove it!

Tampa, FL -- Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department is accepting registrations for a new Dodgeball League.

Ten teams of 10 players will compete for eight weeks in a sport that brings back fond memories of physical education class.

Games will be held on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. starting in April at the All People's Life Center, 6105 E. Sligh Ave., Tampa.

Apollo Beach, FL -- The 4th Annual South Shore Cares Walk-a-thon is Saturday, March 5.


South Shore Cares is a charity committee of Keller Williams Realty South Shore in Apollo Beach and Sun City Center which supports a different local charity each year.


This year the organization is supporting the new community cultural center.

Tampa, FL -- Bike across USF this weekend and earn prizes in USF's Amazing Race bicycle scavenger hunt.


You'll be part of a team, solving clues that will lead you to checkpoints on campus.


All you have to do is take pictures of each checkpoint and be the first to cross the finish line.

Golfing for a Dream Tournament

Valrico, FL -- Now's the time to register for the Golfing for a Dream Tournament. It will be held next month at Bloomingdale Golfers Club in Valrico. Paralympic Sport Tampa Bay is hosting the annual golf tournament as a fundraiser.


Registration fee for this four-person scramble tournament is $75 per person and includes greens fee, cart, range balls, golfer gift pack, tournament banquet and awards. Registration is limited to 100 golfers.


Trophies will be presented to the top three teams. Awards will be given to the following categories: Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Putting Contest, Hole-In-One Contest.

USF announces 2011 football schedule

Tampa, FL-- The USF Bulls announced its 2011 football season on Friday, highlighted by a road trip to Notre Dame to start the season, and a home game with Miami.

The Bulls will open the 2011 season at Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 3. That game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. (EST) and will be aired nationally by NBC.

 The Bulls will continue non-conference action for three straight weeks when they host Ball State (Sept. 10), Florida A&M (Sept. 17) and UTEP (Sept. 24). In a short week, USF will open BIG EAST play at Pittsburgh on Thursday, Sept. 29. That game will kickoff at 8 p.m. (EST) and will be televised nationally by ESPN.

Tampa Catholic girls win 2nd straight state title

Lakeland, FL-- The Tampa Catholic girls basketball team made history Thursday, winning the 3A state championship for the second straight season... the first girls basketball team in Hillsborough County history, to do that.  The Crusaders beat North Broward Prep, 48-37.

Tampa Catholic was trailing after one period, 15-6, when they went to work.  They outscored North Broward, 15-3, in the second period and never looked back.

Senior guard Meghan Keough led the Crusaders with 30 points, the only TC player in double figures.

Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motorcross adds a second show!

Tampa, FL -- The Nuclear Cowboyz tour, featuring the world’s top freestyle motocross riders, added an additional show to its record-breaking theatrical freestyle motocross production at the St. Pete Times Forum.

The tour stops in Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and now has a second show on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.

Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motocross is half rock concert, half Broadway production and all Extreme Freestyle Motocross!  The show features the biggest freestyle motocross tour with the best freestyle motocross riders on the planet - all assembled together for a mind-blowing theatrical experience. 

Star riders include Adam Jones, Mike Mason, Beau Bamburg, Dustin Miller, Ronnie Faistt, the Metal Mellisha’s Jeremy “Twitch” Stenber and more.
