"Heart of a Champion" scholarship to help 66 Hillsborough seniors

Hillsborough County, Florida-- An upcoming, exciting event will honor some of Hillsborough County's high school senior athletes, and award them with scholarships for displaying hard work, determination and true spirit.

The "Heart of a Champion" scholarship will go to one male, and one female student athlete from 33 Hillsborough County schools who have demonstrated what “heart” is all about, event organizers explained Wednesday.

Tampa, Florida-- The College of Education is looking for Peer Mentors.

The peer mentor program is designed to assist incoming first-year students in the Education LLC. These leaders provide academic and developmental support through relationship connections, leadership development, support resources, direction, and guidance.

USF appoints new Chief Diversity Officer

Tampa, Florida -- University of South System Florida President Judy Genshaft announced Monday the appointment of Jose E. Hernandez to the newly created position of Chief Diversity Officer and leader of USF’s expanded Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

Hernandez, a former USF diversity official who has served at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in recent years, will return to USF to lead a proactive and positive strategy to expand USF’s diversity and inclusion efforts in all aspects of system operations, the president announced.

Tampa, Florida - USF Dining Street Team is seeking enthusiastic and outgoing USF students to help during summer orientations from May - August.

According to a recent flier, those on the team would work approximately 20 hours a week for $9 an hour - plus cash bonuses, flexible hours and evenings, and even free meals!

Applicants must enjoy interacting with others in a professional manner and have a positive attitude. Retail, customer service, or volunteer experience is a plus.
