Bay Area teachers can save on school supplies!

Temple Terrace, Florida - Most teachers spend their own money to pay for classroom supplies to teach their students, according to a recent survey by the online coupon website RetailMeNot, but two Tampa Bay area teachers started a company called "Twice as Nice" to try and give instructors a break.

Online Registration For Rec2Six begins August 5

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Online registration for new participants in Rec2Six, an after-school care program for children in grades k-5, begins at 1 p.m. on August 5, 2013. In addition to registering online, parents or guardians can enroll their child at participating Rec2Six locations Monday through Friday, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Teachers prep for school year during summer technology showcase

Tampa, Florida-- Parents of Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough County students can rest assured that their children will have tech-savvy teachers for the 2013-2014 school year thanks to Saturday's Back to School with Microsoft Summer Showcase.

More than 400 educators from schools across the above three counties attended the showcase and participated in dozens of hands-on training sessions, presentations, demonstrations and even a showcase of innovative and engaging technologies for students- all in preparation for the start of the school year.

Free physicals & immunizations offered to Hillsborough County students

Tampa, Florida – Hillsborough County Public Schools and the Back-to-School Coalition of Hillsborough County are co-hosting opportunities for free physicals and immunizations on upcoming Saturdays.

According to the school board, the free physicals are available to any child entering a Florida school for the first time in grades kindergarten through 12. As long as parents or legal guardians attend, and the patient's immunization records are handy, the student can take advantage of the free physical.
