Lithia, Florida-- Parents attending the Stowers Elementary or Barrington Middle School Open House events this Thursday are in for a special treat- literally!

The district’s Student Nutrition Services department will be hosting kitchen tours of the shared cafeteria at the two schools.

Tampa, Florida -- Just months after ascending into the ranks of the nation's Top 50 research universities, USF posts sizeable gains across a range of important student measures and in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

U.S. News & World Report announced this week that USF's position on the publication's list of the nation's best universities has jumped 11 notches, from 181 to 170, more than any other Florida public university in the rankings.

Tampa, Florida -- Due to field conditions at Wharton High School, the district athletics department has announced that the Sickles vs. Wharton carsity football game will be moved to Sickles High School.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Sickles High School is located at 7950 Gunn Highway in Tampa.

Dental Hygiene Program receives reaccreditation

Dental Hygiene Program receives reaccreditation

Avon Park, Florida-- South Florida State College's Dental Hygiene program recently received its reaccreditation from the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation (ADA CODA).

"Accreditation is voluntary, but if a student does not graduate from an accredited program, they are not eligible to take the licensing board exams," said Rebecca Sroda, associate dean, Allied Health. "Accreditation means a program meets the highest level of national standards, that graduates are able to practice successfully, and that patients are receiving the highest quality care."

Barbara Bush Foundation of Family Literacy celebrates Family Literacy Day

Plant City, Florida-- Family Literacy Day falls on Thursday, Septmber 8, and the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy will celebrate parent learners, preschool students and educators at the Tampa Bay Literacy Academy. 

Richard Glorioso, a Foundation representative, and Liza McFadden, the president of the Barbara Bush Foundation will attend. 

The celebration will conclude with a tour of the center’s parent and preschool classrooms, followed by a family literacy craft activity and refreshments.

Tampa, Florida-- The University of South Florida Bulls kick off the football season tomorrow at 7 p.m.!

Beginning at 7 p.m., the Bulls will take on the Chattanooga Mocs at Raymond James Stadium.

Westchase E.S. After School Enrichment

Westchase E.S. After School Enrichment

Tampa, Florida -- The Westchase Elementary PTA is announcing the start of enrollment for the A.S.E. (After School Enrichment) program.

Classes are scheduled for September 12 - November 15. There will be no classes held the week of Halloween.

They opened enrollment for children yesterday, August 29. You have until tomorrow, August 31 to register. 

The classes will be filled through a lottery system.
