Tampa, FL-- The Jefferson HS state championship football team was honored at Tampa City Hall on Friday.

The Dragons were recognized and congratulated by Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio.  They received a proclamation from the city and had a team banner hung on the outside of City Hall.

Several team members are going to play college football, including wide receiver Andre Davis, who committed to play for Skip Holtz and USF this week.

"It's a whole family atmosphere at USF," said Davis.  "From the coaches to the players, to the academic advisors, everybody is one big family.  That's what took me in, took me over, and that's why I did it."
