Carne Chophouse booked for week of GOP convention

Tampa, Florida -- Carne Chophouse will be closed to the public the week of the Republican National Convention. 

Owner Jason Fernandez says it's because the National Journal has booked his new Ybor City restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week of Aug. 27.

Fernandez says that totals more than a dozen events and he estimates the private parties will more than quadruple is normal business for the week.

Carne Chophouse is located 1536 E. 7th Avenue.

Tampa, FL -- While Chick-fil-A franchises around the country have been busy this week with many customers there showing support for the company's president's stance against gay marriage, Hamburger Mary's is taking a stand too.

The San Francisco based company says it is offering a "Hate-Free" chicken sandwich this month as an alternative to Dan Cathy's comments.

Hamburger Mary's has a location on the second floor of Centro Ybor.

The City of Inverness seems to agree, as they have featured Eyepoppin' Cheesesteaks & Hoagies in their website's Business Spotlight.

According to the site, the shop is new to Inverness, but has been successfully serving up sandwiches in Crystal River!

New James Joyce location now open

Tampa, FL -- Longtime Ybor City bar The James Joyce Irish Pub has moved into its new location at 1724 E. 8th Avenue.

According to the bar's website they now feature 50 taps beers, a premium Irish whiskey menu and authentic Irish cuisine.

The new location also has two fireplaces, dark hardwood floors and a large outdoor patio. The owners say they will also have live music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday nights.

James Joyce had been located on E. 7th Avenue above the Green Iguana.

According to Nick's website, the restaurant offers authentic New York style, hand-tossed pizza, along with subs, salads and of course, wings. 

They serve lunch from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. starting at $6.99, and then dinner from 4 - close, starting a $8.99.
