Park Ranger Nature Educational Programs at Lettuce Lake Park

Tampa, Florida--Lettuce Lake Park in Temple Terrace invites children ages 9 - 15, and even adults too, to attend their park Ranger Nature Educational Programs this month.

According to a recent release, the programs provide attendees with a variety of fun and informative activities for just $5 cash per person. 

Lettuce Lake Park is located at 6920 E. Fletcher Ave. in Tampa. Attendees should meet inside Visitor Center upon arrival.

The event is being held at the community room at the Riverview Branch Library at 10509 Riverview Drive in Riverview from 3 - 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10.

The event is for children ages 5-12.

Tampa, Florida-- On Monday, June 25 from 2 - 3:30 p.m., little library stars are invited to be a part of the Glam Slam!

This event will allow attendees ages 5-12 to perform show-stopping song or dance numbers at the library with great Wii games.

The West Tampa Branch library is located at 2312 West Union Street, Tampa.

The fun will be held in the Tony Garcia Jr. Community Room.

Tampa, Florida -- The Friends of the Upper Tampa Bay Library are offering a special treat for teens interested in film making.

They've invited award winning filmmaker, Banks Helfrich, to meet with the teens to not only screen short films and documentaries, but teach the kids how to make short films for YouTube and film festivals.

This Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m., the John F. Germany Public Library is presenting "Tricky Little Dogs".

The library says "Tricky Little Dogs" is a hilarious circus-style dog act comedy, starring a group of tricky little dogs and their pet human."

For children ages 5 - 12. The event is funded by the Friends of the John F. Germany Public Library.

Health advisories issued for 2 Tampa beaches

Health advisories issued for 2 Tampa beaches

Tampa, Florida -- The Hillsborough County Health Department has issued  a health advisory for Ben T. Davis South and Davis Island beaches due to high levels of enterococci bacteria.

The department says the levels of bacteria should be considered a potential risk to swimmers.

The samples were taken on Monday and will be re-sampled Monday, June 12. If the water is found to be within the satisfactory range, the advisory will be lifted.
