Rock the Park hits Curtis Hixon Thursday night

Tampa, FL -- Downtown Tampa is expected to rock again Thursday night with the city's Rock the Park from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Park.

Rock the park is downtown's free monthly music event scheduled the first Thursday of every month.

Lithia Springs back open to swimmers

Lithia Springs, Florida -- The Hillsborough County says Lithia Springs is back open to swimmers. 


The park closed the swimming hole Saturday evening until Monday morning.


The Alafia River crested Saturday night and flooded the springs with river water.

Plant City, FL -- Every month, the Art Wall at the Bruton Memorial Library features the work of an east Hillsborough County artist or arts organization.

This month the library is currently displaying paintings by local award-winning artist and art professor Phyllis Duggar Alexandroff.

Planning a trip to Dinosaur World

Plant City, Florida -- A friend of mine has decided to celebrate her 25th birthday next weekend at an iconic Plant City tourist establishment - Dinosaur World!

Even though we all live locally and are working adults, we decided to embrace our inner children and play like tourists. We know that Dinosaur World has over 150 life size dinosaurs to explore, playspaces like caves, a boneyard, and fossil dig, and even museums and gift shops. The rest is a mystery!

Tampa, FL -- Children from 2 to 5 years of age will have a new play area to take advantage of next week.


Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio and members of the Tampa City Council will be on hand Monday, March 14 to cut the ribbon on the new playground at New Tampa Community Park.

Changes planned for HCC Ybor City campus library

Tampa, Florida - Hillsborough Community College officials say they're getting ready to make changes to the Ybor City campus library building.

Officials say the plan is to renovate part of the downstairs into a student center, while giving the upstairs a face-lift too.

Among the changes to the upstairs: new bookshelves and carpeting.
