Free Jingle Jamboree in Ruskin Saturday!

Ruskin, Florida -- Organizers are inviting the public out to celebrate the holiday season with stories, fun games and other special treats at an event called "Jingle Jamboree".

It's being held on at the SouthShore Regional Library, located at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin, on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Organizers say don't forget to wear a Santa hat to be festive for the special visit from Mrs. Claus! The event is free and is being held for grades K-5.

Volunteers needed to put up Ybor holiday decorations

Tampa, FL -- Volunteers are needed this weekend to help put up holiday decorations in Ybor City.

Organizers say if you are interested in helping out go the Reservoir Bar located at 1518 E. 7th Ave at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning.

In past years, organizers say as many as 80 people have helped put up garland and lights along 7th Avenue. They say putting up the decorations generally takes a few hours.

An Ybor City tree lighting ceremony at Centro Ybor is planed this year for Dec. 30.

Movie in the Park tonight!

Tampa, Florida -- Grab a blanket, chairs and the kids and head on over to Baybridge Park for 'Movie's in the Park', sponsored by the Westchase Community Association.

Tonight's feature will be Ice Age, starting at 7 p.m.

Make sure to mark your calenders for next month's 'Movie's in the Park' on Dec. 9 when Polar Express will be featured.

Ruskin, Florida -- Adults are invited out for an afternoon of smooth jazz performed by recording artist and saxophonist, Sam Allen.

The free performance by Allen is Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. at the SouthShore Regional Library, which is located 15816 Beth Shields Way, in Ruskin.

Ruskin library celebrates fairy tales

Ruskin, Florida - Children between the ages of 1 and 5 are invited to come out and celebrate fairy tales like, The Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood and The Gingerbread Man.

The children will also be able to make a special project to take home in this interactive program.

The "Once Upon A Time" event is being held at the SouthShore Library at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 10:30 a.m.

Free teen anime movie festival at Ruskin library

Ruskin, Florida - There's a teen anime movie festival at the SouthShore Regional Library on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m.

It's free and is being held at the SouthShore Regional Library, 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin.

Organizers say participants will be able to experience five full hours of anime movies projected on two screens. There will also be door prizes, food and drink.

The event is for teens grades 6 through 12.

Ice Skating coming back to Tampa

Tampa Florida -- It was a huge hit during Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio's term and the city is doing it again.

Ice skating returns to Tampa's downtown today, Nov. 11 and continues through Jan. 1 at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

Spend the holidays downtown skating with friends and family; and enjoy downtown's Riverwalk, restaurants, shopping and amenities while you're out-and-about.

Admission is only $10 per person for 90 minutes of skating.
