New Park coming to Downtown Tampa

Tampa, Florida-- There is a new park coming to the Channel District in downtown Tampa.

Developer Ken Stoltenberg is donating land for part of the park and the city of Tampa has acquired 9/10ths of an acre at the north end of the Channel district where the park will be located.

The sports oriented park is targeted for young, urban professionals.

Hillsborough County Offers free ELAPP Calendar

Hillsborough County, Florida -- Hillsborough County is offering FREE 2014 Jan K. Platt Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program (ELAPP) calendars at various Hillsborough County locations. The Calendar was developed through a photo contest that shows natural beauty at 60 Hillsborough County ELAPP sites.

FREE 2014 ELAPP Calendars are available starting Dec. 2 at the following locations. Only a limited number of calendars are available at each location.

Hillsborough County Land Development meeting rescheduled

Tampa, Florida-- If you are planning on going to the Hillsborough Public Hearing on Land Development Code Text Amendments, there has been a major change.

The hearing, originally scheduled for this Thursday, has been moved to 6:00 p.m. on December 5th.

The public hearing, which is actually round two, will be held in the 2nd Floor Boardroom of County Center. The County Center is located at 601 East Kennedy Blvd. in Downtown Tampa.

Pardon the dust at the Bloomingdale Library- expansion project underway

Brandon, Florida-- You may have noticed some construction at the Bloomingdale Library, and wondered what it's all about.

Here's the scoop, it's an expansion project, and it's well under way. 

The library will remain open during the construction, but some parking spaces will be restricted. The expansion project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
