Tampa, Florida-- Wear your walking shoes and some comfortable clothing to take a free guided tour of Lettuce Lake Park!

The park offers tours of the boardwork and  the scenic Hillsborough River every Saturday and Sunday morning from 8:30 - 9:30.

Lettuce Lake Park says participants can expect to see native plants, a variety of birds, and usually even an alligator or two, as Park Rangers provide information and historical facts.

Gutsy guests will have the opportunity to climb the three story observation tower and enjoy a scenic overlook from the skies.

After the tour, participants will have access to exhibits inside the interpretive center.

Aside from the $2-per-car entry fee, the tours are free.

Lettuce Lake Park is located at 6920 E. Fletcher Ave. in Tampa.

It is suggested to wear walking shoes and cool clothing, and carry water. Binoculars and a camera are welcome, and will definitely make this a memorable trip. Pets are not permitted on the boardwalk.
