Rick Scott: Least popular of newly elected Governors

Tampa, Florida --Since his election, Rick Scott has been going around the state meeting with legislators and citizens. The Governor Elect is making an impression, a bad one. According to Tom Jensen at Public Policy Polling, Scott has only a 30 percent favorable rating.

Jensen says Scott is pretty unpopular and was unpopular the day he got elected. According to Jensen, the fact that Scott got elected is just a sign of how incredibly anti Democratic Florida voters were this year.

However, the fact that Scott has the least favorable rating of any newly elected governor in the country doesn't surprise political consultant Wayne Garcia. Garcia says Scott is not a likeable guy whether you agree or disagree with his politics or not. According to Garcia, Scott will never been Governor "Warm and Fuzzy."

Lil Wayne imposter threatens Tampa

TAMPA, Florida - The management team for Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne warns that imposters are misrepresenting the artist and his manager in attempt to land a New Year's Eve appearance contract in Tampa.

"Bryant Management booked Lil Wayne to perform in Chicago,"  a spokesperson said Thursday of the rapper's New Year's Eve plans.  "He will not be performing in Tampa."

"The Tampa 'booking' was via an imposter who misrepresented himself as artist management and is due to no fault of the club."

Earlier in the week, the Empire Night Club in Ybor City pulled the plug on it's much-hyped New Year's Eve party with Lil Wayne because owner Ken Grossman realized the promoters that contacted him didn't have the authority to book the event.

"I didn't want to charge a lot of money and have a club full of people upset," said Grossman on Wednesday.

Lil Wayne not coming to Tampa

*UPDATE (12/30/10): A person claiming to be Lil Wayne's manager contacted 10 News Thursday to maintain the rapper will appear in Tampa on New Year's Eve.  However, Bryant Management, which handles Lil Wayne's appearances, suggests the caller is part of an elaborate scam and has no official affiliation.

Earlier in the week, the man accused of impersonating Lil Wayne's manager facilitated an interview between tbt* and someone claiming to be the rapper.  However, it now appears the interviewee was an imposter.

Wednesday night, the rapper tweeted, "a windy city new year," and the promoter for the Chicago event produced a $250,000 contract for Lil Wayne to appear at his event.
