Tampa, FL -- During its annual National Tourism Week (NTW) Luncheon today, Tampa Bay & Company honored Tampa Bay area legend Jack Harris with the 2011 Gonzmart Family Ambassador of the Year Award.

This prestigious award was created in 1994 to honor those in the Tampa Bay area who have made impactful contributions to the community and to the success of the hospitality industry in Tampa and Hillsborough County.

Harris is a Tampa radio personality with WFLA 970-AM.

“With his enthusiasm for promoting the Tampa Bay area and dedication to making him home a better place to live, work and play, Jack truly is a shining example of what an ambassador should be,” Paul Catoe, president & CEO of Tampa Bay & Company said in a release. “Jack’s passion for being involved throughout the Tampa Bay area is undeniable, and the legacy he has left within the community is inspiring.”
The Gonzmart Family Ambassador of the Year Award is named after the founding family of The Columbia Restaurant, an Ybor City landmark operating since 1905.

With this award, Jack Harris joins a long list of well-known community leaders.
