Pam Iorio to recieve USF Alumni Award at anniversary celebration

Tampa, FL -- The University of South Florida Graduate School is about to conclude its year-long celebration of its 30th Anniversary.

The school is going to hold a special ceremony to recognize distinguished alumni, mentors and student scholars.

Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio will be honored as the USF Graduate School Outstanding Alumni Recipient.

The Graduate School will also name its first Graduate School Faculty Mentor Award and celebrate its student scholars at the event on March 4.

It starts at 6 p.m. in the Marshall Student Center ballroom.

"We are very proud of the forward trajectory of the Graduate School over the last 30 years," said Graduate School Dean Karen D. Liller.

"We truly have changed from a graduate studies office to a real school that focuses on the professional development of graduate students so they can become the global leaders they are poised to be. Graduate education has been said to be the jewel in the crown of the American education system and we are confident our graduates are ready, prepared, and will successfully meet the challenges that lie ahead."
