Library gets room to expand

Plant City, FL -- A dance studio is booking a new performance.

The city has agreed to buy Jackie's Dance Theater on North Wheeler Street to eventually make way for an expansion of the Bruton Memorial Library.

The city doesn't have any immediate plans to start the expansion project but decided to buy the building since the owners are willing to sell it for the appraised value of $188,500.

The building is one of three the city needs to acquire so it can expand the library.

The studio was founded in the 1950's by Jackie and Buddy Everidge and they have owned the Wheeler street building since 1978.
