Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Stephen Van Treese, Preston Knowles and Terrence Jennings all scored 12 points to power the Louisville Cardinals to an 86-77 victory over the South Florida Bulls in Big East Conference action.

Mike Marra pitched in 11 points for Louisville (13-2, 2-0 Big East), which has won five of its last six games. The Cardinals also got 10 points from Gorgui Dieng and a career-high 14 rebounds from Van Treese.

Augustus Gilchrist tallied 25 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for South Florida (6-11, 0-4), which has lost eight of its last nine contests. The Bulls also received 14 points apiece from Shaun Noriega and Jawanza Poland.

South Florida held a 48-45 lead at intermission after shooting 51.7 percent from the floor in the first half.

The Cardinals played much better at the defensive end in the second half, holding the Bulls to 34.5 percent field goal efficiency.

Louisville shot 23-of-26 from the foul line and committed a mere seven turnovers, two obvious reasons for the win.
