Robinson beats Jesuit 21-7 in Rematch

Tampa, FL - For two weeks the Robinson Knights have been wearing black wristbands that say, "29-28 Remember".   They are a reference to when Jesuit defeated Robinson earlier in the season.

The first game was a battle for the district.   This time a place in the state semi-finals was at stack.

Robinson got on the board in the 1st quarter when Blake Rice threw an 18-yard pass to Ruben Gonzales.

Jesuit matched that score in the 2nd quarter with an Anthony Harrell two yard dive.   The game was tied at 7 at the end of the first half.

But the third quarter belonged to Robinson and running back J.J. Hubbard.   Hubbard had rushing scores of 26 and 8 yards to put the Knights on top for good.   The senior running back finished the game with 187 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

For Robinson, the win sends the Knights back into state semifinals, and another chance for redemption against Glade Central, who defeated Robinson 33-0 last year.

The loss ends the perfect season for the Jesuit Tigers, and their dreams of a state championship.
