Sandbags available for Hillsborough Co. residents

Hillsborough County, Florida - Storms are rolling in and Hillsborough County officials want to make sure their residents are ready.

To do so, all three County Public Works Service Units will have sandbag materials available this evening until 8 p.m., and on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., as long as weather permits.

Residents are welcome to visit the location nearest them to make up to 25 sandbags. County reps say all who utilize the service will have to sign their name and list their address before taking any bags.

The addresses for the three County Public Works Service Units are below:

  • West Service Unit - 9805 Sheldon Road - Town 'N Country
  • South Service Unit - 8718 Old Big Bend Road- South County
  • East Service Unit - 4702 Sydney Road- East County

During the storms, citizens are encouraged to call 813-635-5400 to report any flooding/road problems, or request additional information.
