Co-founder of Ben & Jerry will speak at USF

Tampa, Florida -- They used their life savings to start a business out of a renovated gas station and turned it into a $300 million empire.

Now one of the men behind Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, a popular American success story, will share his experiences with future business leaders at the University of South Florida.

Co-founder Jerry Greenfield will speak in the Marshall Center Ballroom at 8 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 4.

Greenfield will share his personal insights on the relevance of entrepreneurship and sustainability in business with USF students, staff, and community- along with a serving of ice cream for each audience member!

USF is a leader in those fields, with its graduate entrepreneurship program ranking 11th on Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine's list of the top programs in the nation in 2012. USF also places 12th on Sierra magazine's annual "America's Coolest Schools" list in 2012, ranking universities and colleges for advances in sustainability in research and education.

Sponsored by the USF Student Affairs University Lecture Series, Greenfield's presentation is expected to be an engaging and fun tribute to entrepreneurship as he shares Ben & Jerry's anecdotes and philosophies-approaches that turned a store front venture into a multimillion dollar company, earning recognition for its commitment to creative management and social responsibility.

All lectures in the University Lecture Series are free to students, faculty, staff, and the general public. For reasonable accommodations, please contact (813) 974-1001 (FL Relay 711).
