Taxi driver shooting suspect arrested

Tampa, FL-- Tampa Police officials say they arrested one of the men suspected of shooting a taxi driver during an armed robbery last month, despite the driver's willingness to hand over the money. The second suspect remains on the loose.

According to reports, officials arrested 21-year-old Ricky Lamont Offutt, Jr. on December 20, and charged him with the attempted murder of the driver, 42-year-old Annuel Delicieux

Previous reports said Delicieux was just dropping off a passenger on West Chestnut St. shortly before 3 a.m. on December 18 when a man approached him with a shotgun and demanded money.

Despite the fact that Delicieux handed over money, reports said the suspect shot him in the chest anyway.

When Delicieux tried to drive away, he crashed into an officer patrolling the area, who was able to call for an ambulance.

An update on Delecieux's condition has not been released, though he was listed in stable condition the day of the shooting.
