UPDATE: SR 64 East to remain closed through midnight

Hardee County, Florida – At 8:20 p.m. the third party clean up crew, A.C.T. Environmental & Infrastructure Inc., began drilling the first of four holes needed to remove the remaining fuel from the overturned tanker on SR 64 East in Hardee County.

All fuel must be removed before the tanker can be hauled away. Crews anticipate the road closure to continue through midnight as they complete the initial clean up.
