Tampa, Florida-- Hillsborough County Commissioners have announced that they will put shovels to dirt to break ground for the new Gymnasium at Westchase Park on July 12 at Noon.

According to a recent release, this $2 million expansion of the Westchase Recreation Center, funded by the Community Investment Tax, is scheduled to be completed by September of 2013.

The 10,000 square foot addition will accommodate basketball, volleyball and other organized indoor activities. It will also allow the center to expand its popular Rec2Six after-school and summer programs.

The release say the expansion is a long-awaited multi-purpose gymnasium that has received strong community support.
