Tampa, Florida - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to terms with former New Orleans Saints guard Carl Nicks on a 5-year, $47.5 million deal.

Nicks, a two-time first-team All-Pro, has spent the past four years starting at guard for the Saints, and now will get the chance to play against his former team twice a year for the next five seasons.

The Bucs also agreed to terms with WR Vincent Jackson and CB Eric Wright.  Each of them signed 5-year contracts.  Jackson's is worth $55 million, Wright's deal around $37 million.

The players all arrived in Tampa aboard private jets.  Jackson and Wright were met at the airport by head coach Greg Schiano, about 4am.

"I believe in this place," said Vincent Jackson at Wednesday's news conference.  "The Bucs have something special happening here.  I met Josh Freeman earlier in the cafeteria, and it looks like we'll have a good off-season basketball team," added the 6-5 Jackson.

"I'll do anything to help out," said Eric Wright, who played at Detroit and Cleveland.  "I can play corner, nickel back, you name it.  This is a good group of young, hungry guys here and I want to be a part of it."

"I love the guys back there," said Carl Nicks, referring to his former teammates with the New Orleans Saints.  "But there, the priority is to pass first, pass second, pass third.  I love to run block, and we're gonna run here.  I push people around, that's what I do."

The Bucs also have more money to spend and the number 5 pick in April's draft.  Mark Dominik would not confirm the signing of backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky.
