Cougars Coast to Division Crown with 28-3 Victory over East Bay

On Friday the Durant Cougars put their undefeated record on the line as they looked to lock up the Division crown against East Bay.   But before they could begin their title pursuit, the game had to be held up for several minutes, as a horse which is an East Bay mascot, went to the bathroom on the field.  Once that was all cleaned up the game was finally able to begin.

In the first quarter East Bay got on the board first with a 34-yard field goal by Mike Brown.

Durant's Jamarlon Hamilton named Player of the Week

Durant, Florida -- Durant Cougar's running back Jamarlon Hamilton is the Southern Ford Dealers Player of the Week.

The senior scored four touchdowns and rushed for 132 yards in the first half of Durant's 49-0 homecoming win over Chamberlain.

Thanks in part to Hamilton's four TD's, the Cougars scored all 49 of their points in the first half, making it unnecessary for Hamilton to play in the second half.

Jarmarlon says he knew he was having a good game, but he didn't know it was that good.

Sickles Slides Past Hillsborough 23-22

After losing a nail-biter to Armwood last week, Sickles knew it would have to get back on track against Hillsborough if they want a shot at reaching the playoffs.

In the first quarter Hillsborough struck first blood on a 20 yard run right up the gut by Nigel Harris to make 8-0.

But the Gryphons fire right back with a 44 yard hook-up between QB Nate Mills and Bilal Salat to pull within two.

Durant celebrates 49-0 homecoming win over Chamberlain

Durant, Fl - Any worries about a letdown, after Durant's big win last Friday against Plant City, were quickly forgotten.   The Cougars took control and never let off the gas, easily defeating Chamberlain 49-0.

Pasco blanks Wesley Chapel, 26-0

Wesley Chapel, Florida - Rain and lightning could only delay the Pasco Pirates from winning once again.

Pasco (5-0, 3-0) still got the win, despite the weather interuptions, a number of offensive penalties, and the loss of their starting quarterback, Jajaun Henry. Henry missed most of the game with a sore arm.

Backup Benjamin Chandler got the Pirates on the scoreboard in the first quarter when wide receiver Malik Johns took a short swing pass 87-yards to the endzone.

TB Tech's Richard Benjamin Player of the Week

Tampa, FL-- Tampa Bay Tech running back Richard Benjamin is the Southern Ford Dealers Player of the Week.

The senior rushed for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns, last Friday in the Titan's win over Chamberlain.

Richard gave the credit to the big guys up front.

"It's very important.. without the O-Line I wouldn't have rushed for 263," Richard Benjamin told 10 News.  "Without the O-Line, I wouldn't have scored.  Without our defense, we wouldn't have time to have the ball as many times as we had the ball."

The 3-1 Titans play Plant this Friday.

Tampa Bay Tech tops Chamberlain, 22-12

Tampa, Florida - Tampa Bay Tech, behind senior running back Richard Benjamin's 263 rushing yards and three touchdowns, held off Chamberlain 22-12.

Playing most of the game in a downpour, the Titans (3-1, 1-0) kept the ball on the ground and in the hands of Benjamin.

Chamberlain (1-2, 0-1) got within 10 points late in the game, when Xavier Johnson scored on a 37-yard run, but the Titans defense held, preserving the 10-point victory.
