Week 4's USA Today High School Sports Top 5 National Plays of the Week

Here are this week's USA Today High School Sports Top 5 National Plays of the Week:

Our Number 1 play of the week courtesy of  Sickles High School in Tampa... Running back Ray Ray McCloud runs around the end and does the complete flip into the endzone for the touchdown.

Number 2 comes from Seymour High School in Tennessee... Eagles receiver Braxton Dockery uses a spin move and a couple of stiff-arms to turn a screen pass into a long touchdown

Sickles Runs Past Durant 28-0

On Friday night at the "Gryphon's Lair" Sickles High School was looking to make it two in a row as they took on Durant High School.  Early in the first, Sickles broke it open with a 20 yard pass from Issac Holder to Jaaron Barrett to make it 7-0. Then before the first quarter was over, Ray Ray McCloud spun his way into the end-zone from 11 yards out to make it 14-0 Sickles.

Armwood at Hillsborough postponed to Monday

Tampa, FL - Lightning and heavy rain lead school officials to cancel Thursday night's football game between the Armwood Hawks and the Hillsborough Terriers.  

The game is rescheduled for Monday night at 7:00 p.m., at Hillsborough High School. 

The Middleton at King, Leto at Blake, Alonso at East Bay and Lennard at Chamberlain games were also impacted by the weather, and have been scheduled for Monday night at 7:00 p.m. as well.

Plant beats Robinson 28-7 in battle of south Tampa

Tampa, FL - After playing in a preseason game at Raymond James Stadium, and their first regular season game in Maryland, the Plant Panthers were eager to play at home, in the friendly and familiar environment of Dad's Stadium.  

Up first, the Robinson Knights, in the 55th meeting of what is known as the battle of south Tampa.

Here are the Plays of the Week, in Week 1 of high school football, for USATODAYHSS.com

Play #2 is Jordan Griffin of Armwood HS, picking up a bouncing fumble and returning it for a touchdown, against Durant.

Our top play is from Juwon Brown of Jefferson HS.  He tipped a pass from Alonso HS at the line of scrimmage, intercepted it on the run, and dashed 70 yards for a touchdown.

Armwood runs over Durant 48-6

Plant City, FL -- Coming off a first-ever 10-0 season, the Durant Cougars were eager to get the 2013 season underway hosting the Armwood Hawks in a non-district contest.    

But Armwood was also ready, wanting to show everyone they are still one of the top teams in the state.

Plant's Mazzi Wilkins commits to USF

Tampa, FL-- Plant HS senior defensive back Mazzi Wilkins has made an oral committment to play football at USF next year.

Mazzi made his announcement at the Plant HS Fieldhouse, Thursday afternoon.

Mazzi is 6'1", 185 pounds, with the ability to play either cornerback or safety, according to Plant Head Coach Robert Weiner.

Mazzi said he felt a family atmosphere on the USF team with first-year head coach, Willie Taggart.  Plus, he likes being close to his Tampa home.
