Plant blitzes Wharton in district opener
HS Sports

Tampa, Fla. -- Plant had questions entering this season about who would take the snaps at quarterback. James Few has left little doubt.

Few threw four touchdowns against Wharton at Plant cruised to a 37-19 win in their district opener.

Few connected with tight end Austin Roberts for 27 yards to put Plant ahead 7-0.  Later in the first quarter, Few lofted a pass that Austin Aikens hauled in as Plant blitzed Wharton to a 21-0 lead after just 12 minutes.

Wharton made a quick rally behind a 60-yard touchdown run from Darius Page on the ensuing drive.

But Few bounced bask quickly on the next two drives finding running back Wesley Bullock on screen passes that Bullock turned into long touchdowns of 78 and 31 yards for a 34-6 halftime lead.

Plant heads to Brandon next Friday while Wharton hosts Freedom in a New Tampa showdown.
