Medications discussion to be held in Ruskin

Ruskin, Florida -- Hillsborough County Aging Services and the University of South Florida College of Pharmacy is hosting Medications and You.

It's a discussion centered around drug interactions, the importance of adhering to prescribed medications, reviewing medications, and other medicinal topics.

The event takes place on Wednesday, July 10. The USF College of Pharmacy professors, faculty and students will hold Medication Management Workshops followed by a question and answer session with the audience.

Health Advisory lifted for Davis Island Beach

Tampa, Florida-- A health advisory recently issued for Davis Island Beach has been lifted, the Hillsborough County Health Department announced Wednesday.

Officials issued the advisory on June 12th after recently collected samples revealed higher than normal levels of enterococci bacteria.

The Health Department says results from follow-up testing indicate that conditions are safe again, based on recommendations by the Environmental Protecion Agency.

Ski, dance, play darts and more. Summer Wellness Center hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

10-week Weight Management Program beginning June 4 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the USF Psychological Services Center.

The program will
focus on developing skills to help you think differently about diet,
physical activity, and weight loss, as well as staying motivated to
