Moffitt Cancer Center ranked among Top 20 best places to work | Health
Tampa, FL -- The Scientist magazine has found Moffitt Cancer Center to be among the “Best Places to Work in Academia".
This year Moffitt came in at number 17, up four places from last year.
The magazine received more than 2,260 responses from 92 institutions in the U.S. and 19 outside of the U.S. Results and this year’s top 40 institutions list can be found in the July 2011 issue of The Scientist.
The center's top strengths? Survey participants from Moffitt ranked peers and infrastructure and environment.
“We are committed to maintaining a dynamic environment for academicians to collaborate and advance knowledge and their careers. We are honored to be recognized once again as an exceptional place for cancer research and education,” William S. Dalton, Ph.D., M.D., CEO and center director of Moffitt said in a release.
The Scientist created a Web-based survey form that was posted from Sept. 8 to Nov. 29, 2010.
Results were collected and collated automatically. Readers of The Scientist and registrants on The Scientist website who identified themselves as full-time life scientists working in academia or noncommercial research institutions received email invitations.
The survey was also publicized on The Scientist website and through news stories. Respondents were asked to assess their working environment according to 37 criteria in eight different areas.
