Public meeting to improve water quality in Riverview

Riverview, Florida - The Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department has scheduled a public meeting on Tuesday, May 29 to discuss a project to improve water quality and water pressure in an area northeast of Causeway Boulevard and U.S. Highway 301 in Riverview.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and will take place at Frost Elementary School at 3950 Falkenburg Road.

The $400,000 project will construct more than 3,600 feet of six-inch and four-inch water pipelines along Alambra Avenue, Calle Street, Ventura Avenue, San Marco Place, Mariposa Place, and Asturias Place.

Six new fire hydrants also will be installed.

Construction is scheduled to get under way in June and be completed by October.

The work is part of the Countywide Potable Water Main/Distribution Lines Renewal and Replacement Project.

The project will take approximately 2,260 feet of existing, two-inch galvanized pipe and three-inch asbestos-concrete pipe out of service.

The renewal and replacement program is being funded through the Water Enterprise's Capital Improvement Program.

County staff will be at the meeting on May 29 to talk about the project, and to answer any questions residents may have.

All meeting facilities are accessible in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

Any additional necessary accommodations will be provided with a 48-hour notice.
