Wesley Chapel, Florida – According to a Pasco County release, a new traffic signal has been constructed at the intersection of Meadow Pointe Boulevard and Chancey Road, to be activated on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m.
The project was funded through the School Infrastructure Program, in coordination with Pasco County and the District School Board of Pasco County.
This is the first traffic signal constructed in East Pasco, and only the second one in Pasco County that is an audible pedestrian signal for the visually impaired.
The project was designed and constructed by Pasco County Traffic Operations.
The signal will benefit pedestrians and students that walk to the Double Branch Elementary School.
The initial hours of operation of the signal will be on school days from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and will be a flashing signal at all other times.
There will be a brief ceremony that coincides with the activation of the signal with representatives present from Pasco County and the School Board.
