Public Meeting tonight to discuss fire station relocation

Plant City, FL - Hillsborough County is holding a public meeting to discuss the relocation of the Springhead Fire Station in the Plant City area tonight.

The proposed project will include constructing a new three-bay fire station at the Bealsville Park site located at 5009 Nesmith Road. This will replace the existing fire station located at 4503 Coronet Road. The purpose of this meeting is to present a revised site plan including additional land obtained by the County for overflow parking.

County staff will discuss the details of the project and answer any questions residents may have. The meeting is being held at Bealsville Recreation Center, 5009 Nesmith Rd at 6:30 p.m.

Seniors in Service salutes volunteers

New Tampa, FL - The Seniors in Service organization held its annual recognition luncheon at The Embassy Suites Hotel USF today. The gathering celebrated participants in a variety of the organization's programs, including Foster Grandparent, Senior Companion, Volunteer Caregiver, Bill Payer and Spic & Span for Seniors initiatives.

The non-profit group, which is headquartered in Hillsborough county, sponsors a variety of services throughout the community. The mission, according to their official website, is to "recruit, train and place volunteers to help children succeed and elders remain independent."

10th Annual Santa Pub Crawl

Ybor City, FL - Bar-goers joined the big jolly man himself at the 10th Annual Santa Pub Crawl sponsored by Tampa Charities Inc. for a tour around Ybor this past weekend.

The holiday themed crawl always reaches record numbers, with over 850 attendees last year and thousands of dollars and toys brought in for charity.

As always, there were drink specials at each stop on the secret route and prizes throughout the night.

Santa Pub Crawl hitting SoHo this weekend

Tampa, FL -- Get ready to see lots of santas and elves donning jingle bells in South Tampa on Dec. 10, when the 10th Annual Santa Pub Crawl will invade SoHo after dark. For just $20 for those in costume who also donate a wrapped toy for charity, pub crawlers can be part of the festive tradition, which includes exclusive drink specials and freebies.
