Ruskin, Florida - If you'd like to learn more about the history of Irish folk dance now is the time.

Tomorrow, Jessica Glover will not only perform Irish folk dance routines but she will also lead a discussion about the history behind the dances.

Glover will perform at the SouthShore Regional Library at 3 p.m. thanks to funding provided by the Friends of SouthShore Regional Library. The event is free and open to the public.

SouthShore Regional Library is located at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin.

Plant City-- Get ready to roll.

The Strawberry Classic Car Show is set to roll out a few changes next month.

It's already a family friendly event with hundreds of classic cars lining the streets in the downtown historic area.

The show is held every third Saturday of the month  with vendors and a DJ playing music from the 50's , 60's and 70's.

The next show is Saturday February 19th.

There's something for just about everyone.

New Tampa, FL - The 2011 Taste of New Tampa is just around the corner with this year's event being held at a new location, Wharton High School along Bruce B Downs Blvd.

Officials hope this particular location along the busy strip will generate increased traffic and exposure for restaurants, sponsors and exhibitors.

This is the 18th year for the Taste of New Tampa.  It will be held March 20th, a Sunday.  If you'd like to participate or have your restaurant / business represented at this year's event... space is limited.  Email info@newtampachamber.org for application forms.

Plant City, FL -- The City of Plant City has cancelled the Historic Resources Board meeting for Jan. 18 at 5:30 p.m. and the Board of Adjustment meeting for Jan. 25 at 1:30 p.m. due to no applications being received.

Moffitt teams up with downtown library for cancer prevention

Tampa, FL -- The Moffitt Cancer Center and The John Germany Library in downtown Tampa are teaming up to educate people about cancer prevention.


There will be a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the library's Moffitt Resource Corner across from the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center to kick off the program.


B. Lee Green Ph.D., vice president of Moffitt Diversity and senior member of Health Outcomes and Behavior, will make the opening remarks.
