Plant City, FL --It's a date night with the most handsome guy in town. What little girl can resist being swept off her feet by dad?

Sunday, Feb. 13 is the 2nd Annual Daddy Daughter Date Nite.

The event will be held at the Trikle Building at 1206 North Park Road.

It's not just for dads, but grandfathers, uncles and guardians are invited to take to the floor with their best girl.

Tampa, FL -- The University of South Florida is holding its Career Networking Fair for students and alumni today.

The fair is at the Marshall Student Center Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It's open to all majors today. Students majoring in science, technology, engineering and accounting majors can attend.

Seffner, FL-- Friday, Feb. 4 is the deadline to sign up for the 2011 Relay for Life of Seffner, Dover.

Relay for Life benefits the American Cancer Society.

2011 Relay for Life of Seffner, Dover takes place on April 1 at Burnett Middle School.

So far, 17 teams have registered. The teams have already raised more than $2,600.

Plant City, FL -- Every festival needs a queen and the Florida Strawberry Festival is no exception.

Tickets to the annual Florida Strawberry Festival queen's pageant will go on sale Friday, Feb. 4 at the expo hall at 2301 Oak Ave.

The 30 young ladies will be judged on their poise in public speaking, casual wear, evening gown competition and the personal interview.

Current festival queen Natalie Burgin will end her reign when she crowns the new queen on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. at the expo hall.

Tickets for the event at $15 and the sponsor, the Plant City Lions Club, uses the money for a variety of charitable causes including vision screening for children.

The queen's pageant is one of the premiere events leading up to the festival.

The Florida Strawberry Festival is March 3 to 13.

Representative Rachel Burgin to meet with constituents in Riverview

Riverview, FL-- Representative Rachel Burgin is hosting a series of community meetings to hear from constituents before the 2011 legislative session.

This week Representative Burgin, District 56, will be at the Brandon Community Advantage Center in Suite B.

It's located at 6437 Watson Road in Riverview. The event is being held Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Local church helps youths hone skills at soccer camp

Plant City, FL -- If your child needs to brush up on his soccer skills or just perfect his/her moves the Plant City Community Church of Nazarene is offering a soccer camp for youngsters.

The camp comes just in time prior to the 2011 Plant City Recreation Soccer season which runs from April - early June, with practices starting in mid-March.

Camp registration fee for the month of February is $10 and runs every Saturday in February starting on the 5th from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Author Donald J. Green kicks off Four Seasons Author Series

Tampa, FL -- The Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County will celebrate Part 1 of the lunch and lecture Four Seasons Author Series with Donald J. Green.

Green is the author of Third Party Matters: Politics, Presidents and Third Parties in American History, and drew an overflow crowd at the 2010 Festival of Reading in St. Petersburg.

The lunch and lecture Four Seasons Author Series kicks off Friday, Feb. 4 at noon at the University Club, 38th Floor, One Tampa City Center in downtown Tampa.

Tickets are $30 for a onetime event, and $100 for a subscription to the four part series.
