Enjoy a jazzy night out!

Valrico, FL -- Learn about the greats on Thursday, Feb. 10 during a multimedia experience on the history of jazz.

The multimedia program for adults will feature PowerPoint slide shows, live performance examples, lecturing, and samples of historically significant sound recordings from several jazz icons including: Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and others.

A Q & A session will follow the performance.

The event will be held at the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., in Valrico from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Echoes of Love concert to feature actress Katherine Michelle Tanner

Tampa, FL -- Noted actress Katherine Michelle Tanner in a self-written and directed solo musical theatre peon to Love.


Featuring standards as well as original material and accompanied by piano and acoustic guitar.


Tanner is know in the bay area for her critically acclaimed performances with resident professional theatre companies such as American Stage Company, Gorilla Theatre and Stageworks Theatre.


Among these performances include the title role in Jane Eyre and Ophelia in Hamlet. She previously graced the Mainstage Theatre here at Hillsborough Community College with her tour de force performance of all the women in Charlie Chaplin's life in David Pomeranz's musical Chaplin.

Riverview, Florida - Teens in the Riverview, Apollo Beach and Ruskin area don't have to worry about keeping quiet at their neighborhood library tonight.

That's because they're invited to bring their friends out for some gaming fun in the community room of the SouthShore Regional Library at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin. The event starts at 5 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m.

Middle school and high school students will be able to laugh, talk, and get moving by taking part in some gaming fun with games such as Dance, Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero 2, Rock Band and more.

Free Senior Fun Fest at MOSI!

Tampa, FL -- Seniors can soon enjoy a free day inside the Museum of Science and Industry.


MOSI will offer free health screenings, coffee and goodies. Activities include bingo and access to the museum's 450 exhbits. A DJ will provide entertainment.


The FREE Senior Fun Fest starts at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 inside the museum.


Come out early for MOSI's 14th Annual Backwoods Walk to benefit MOSI's educational programs.

Support Tampa school's cancer walk at local Winter Wonderland Bash

Tampa, FL -- You're welcome to join in on a ribbon cutting ceremony and Winter Wonderland Bash for the Fairfield Inn and Suites at 12260 Morris Bridge Rd. in Temple Terrace.


The newly renovated hotel will be revealed at the event on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m., in conjunction with The Hope Lodge. 


Guests entering the hotel will walk through a "live" snowfall then are asked to purchase white ribbons supporting the effort to raise awareness and money for lung cancer patients.

HCC Ybor Campus president hosts community meeting

Tampa, FL -- The President of the Hillsborough Community College Ybor City Campus will host a community meeting next month.


This will be the second "Campus President's Community Advisory Council" held at the Ybor City campus.


Campus President Dr. Shawn Robinson says the Council will serve as a forum for the community to interact with campus faculty, staff, students and administrators in an open, advisory and supportive manner.
