Return of the cross

Return of the cross

Plant City, FL -- For many years an illuminated cross sat on top of the Springhead United Methodist Church. It was somewhat of a landmark for locals.

But after suffering a number of lightning strikes the church let it go dark. That's because the cross became too expensive to keep repairing it.

But now the spark is returning to the church on Sparkman Road.

The church is putting up a new cross that will use fiber optics to keep it lit.
