Tampa, Fla. -- In an effort to raise awareness and educate the Latino community, Moffitt Cancer Center presents "¡Salud! Serie de charlas," a free program developed by Latinos to be delivered entirely in Spanish.

The eighth installment of this series is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on July 23 in the Ted and Marty Couch Auditorium at the Vincent A. Stabile Research Building, 12902 Magnolia Drive.

A panel of Spanish-speaking Moffitt experts will present on the following health topics:

  • Dr. Jesús González-Bosquet, women's cancers and genetics
  • Dr. Sebastián de la Fuente, colon cancer, prevention and screening
  • Liz Matos-Gómez, A.R.N.P., women's general health (hormonal changes, menopause, etc.) 
  • Fabiola Figueroa, R.D., guidelines for breast and colon cancer prevention, the role of exercise, and awareness on calorie consumption

There will also be Spanish literature on a wide range of topics for attendees to take home.
