Westchaser at it again to raise money for cancer research

Tampa, Florida --  Brett Steinfeld isn't quite old enough to drive a car, but the young Westchaser has become the driving force of a unique fundraiser that's collected thousands of dollars for cancer research.

He's putting together the annual "Amazing Race for Life" as part of his Bar Mitzvah project.

Steinfeld says he was inspired last year by his grandfather for was dying of pancreatic cancer.

Since he knew his grandfather would likely not survive to make it to his Bar Mitzvah, he decided to host the event last year so his grandfather could see his project.

Sadly, his grandfather passed away before last year's fundraiser.

But, the race went on and it was a huge success.  The teams of 4-6 adults and kids raced around the Westchase community competing in challenges and searching for clues, much like the teams do on the popular CBS tv show.

'Last year, it raised $3,000  and all the money to the Westchase Relay for Life," Steinfeld wrote.

If you want to join Steinfeld and your fellow Westchasers, the deadline to sign up is tomorrow!

The race is February 27th!
