Children have full day of Gasparilla fun | Events

Tampa, FL -- Gasparilla season is upon us once again, and while the adults wait it out for next week's invasion, children had all the fun today.
About a thousand kids and their parents got all dressed up for the Gasparilla Pre-schoolers Stroll. These pint-sized pirates traveled from Bay-to-Bay Boulevard all the way to Howard Ave. in some pretty creative strollers.

Pirates packed the floats at the Gasparilla Children's Parade. City streets were also packed with thousands enjoying all the fun.
It wrapped up at Morrison Avenue in Hyde Park.
To top it all off, a dazzling display of fireworks lit up the evening sky at the Pira-technic Extravaganza.
The gasparilla pirates have overpowered the city of Tampa every year since 1904.
