Tampa Bay Parade of Homes kicks off Saturday | Events
Tampa Bay, Florida -- A two-week home parade kicks off Saturday featuring 36 home builders from more than 50 communities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas. Nearly 90 homes will be featured in this year's Tampa Bay Parade of Homes that runs from March 17 to April 1.
Reflecting a sustained increase in new-home-buyer traffic and sales in recent months, this year’s parade boasts a 26 percent increase in entries from last year, and a 70 percent spike from the market bottom in 2009, according to Marshall Gray of M/I Homes and president of the Tampa Bay Builders Association, which hosts the parade annually.
Model homes will be open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Saturday and noon - 6 p.m. Sunday throughout the parade.
In a release to the media, Gray says the three-year upward trend in parade entries is a strong indicator that the housing market is improving and that this year, as many industry experts predict, builders should see improvement in the Tampa Bay area, Florida and across the nation.
According to TBBA, during this year’s parade, home-building companies from across the region will display the latest new-home designs and housing trends. Model homes will be judged by a panel of local realtors, as well as local and out-of-market building-industry professionals, who will consider site plan, curb appeal, design, materials, outdoor living spaces, architectural detailing and workmanship.
