Hillsborough Counrty, Florida-- Concerned with environmental matters in your county? Then the Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program meeting taking place on October 29 may interest you. 

According to the county:

"Hillsborough County’s ELAPP Site Selection Team will meet to review and rank properties that have been nominated to become part of the County’s Environmental Lands Acquisition and Protection Program (ELAPP.)

The meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. on the 18th floor Planning Commission Conference Room in the Frederick B. Karl County Center, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. in downtown Tampa. Public comment on the two proposed sites is welcome.

The ELAPP Site Assessment and Review Teams analyzed nominated sites to determine if they met ELAPP selection criteria for inclusion in the program. A final report will be presented at this meeting.

Property owners, nominators, concerned groups and interested parties will have an opportunity to comment on these specific nominations. Those unable to attend the meeting can view the report online and submit written comments prior to the meeting to be entered into the public record. Comments should be sent to the Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department, 10119 Windhorst Road, Tampa, Fl. 33619.

Following the presentation and public comment, the Site Selection Team will rank the nominated sites based on environmental qualities, degree of endangerment for development, ease of acquisition, cost/size of site, and amount of public interest.
