Tampa, Florida-- Wondering what these separate entities have in common?

On Wednesday, April 25, The University of South Florida  hosts a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest speed dating event, put on by The Buried Life Megatour sponsored by Verizon Wireless Careers, a collaboration of the mobile company and the successful MTV series, The Buried Life Megatour

According to Verizon Wireless, The Buried Life Megatour  was a year-long series on MTV that featured university-based speaking engagements by The Buried Life, a group of friends who travel the nation helping strangers fulfill their dreams.

The Megatour’s goal with universities was to encourage students to pursue their passions and accomplish their goals.

Now, on Wednesday, from 12:15-1:30 p.m., a minimum of 250 participants will work towards the accomplishment of breaking the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of people participating in a speed mixer at a single venue.

The attempt involves 20, 23-minute rounds of speed-dating. Conversations that follow The Buried Life's underlying theme "What I want to do before I die", will last three minutes.

Pre-attempt activities take place from 11:30 a.m. - noon, the event lasts from 12:15 - 1:30, and then, at 1:45, a formal declaration and presentation by the Guinness World Adjudicator begins.
