Police identify Wesley Chapel shooter

Wesley Chapel, FL -- Pasco County Sheriff's detectives have released the identification of a suspect in a June 21 murder attempt in Wesley Chapel.

29-year-old Simon Rafeal Iglesia, who last known address is 27140 Big Sur Drive in Wesley Chapel, is suspected by police of shooting three rounds at a moving vehicle in the Northwood Palms subdivision in Wesley Chapel.

According to police, Iglesia was driving a black 2004 Volkswagon Jetta at the time of the shooting.

One round hit the bumper of the victim's car, one round hit the garage door of a nearby home, and one round hit the side door of the victim's car, and then entered the side of the 20-year-old victim. He has since been released from the hospital. The shooting occurred after an argument at the Northwood Palms basketball court.

Plant City men sentenced to more than 19 years for Robbery

Plant City, FL -- U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill announced today, June 27, that 20-year-old Kenneth Marquise Lee and 19-year-old Kimani Richye James, both of Plant City, were each sentenced today by United States District Judge James D. Whittemore to federal prison for robbery and carrying a firearm during a crime of violence.

Lee was sentenced to 295 months (24 years, 7 months) in federal prison while James was sentenced to 237 months (19 years, 9 months).

Both men pled guilty on November 18, 2010.

According to court documents, on the morning of May 7, 2010, Lee and James drove a stolen Dodge Ram through the security door of an ACE Hardware store in Plant City and stole 33 guns from the store.  ACE Hardware is a federal firearms licensee.

Tampa, FL -- Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater announced today, June 27 three arrests in a Tampa insurance fraud case involving the theft of thousands of dollars in auto insurance premiums.  

Bella Jenkins, Torrance Blake and David Ball, employees of Insurance Plus located in Temple Terrace, surrendered to authorities and were charged with insurance fraud and selling insurance without a license. 

In August 2010, the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Insurance Fraud, began an investigation into Tampa insurance agency Insurance Plus.  The division received complaints that customers were given automobile insurance coverage quotes by phone only to have the price for the coverage increase greatly at the time of purchase.

Riverview, FL -- On June 14, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Internet Predator Unit concluded a two-month online child exploitation investigation with the arrest of a 40-year-old Riverview man.

Peter Barnhill was arrested on 20 counts of possessing child pornography and as a result of a search of his home on Beechberry Drive, enhanced each count to a 2nd degree felony.

After his arrest, Barnhill admitted to police to downloading files depicting child pornography and saving them in a folder titled "Hold".

Plant City, Florida - A Lakeland man is under arrest on charges he fired shots inside a Save-A-Lot warehouse, wounding a subcontractor.

Police said Andrew Lee Brown, 53, was still armed and inside the building with other employees when officers arrived. The other workers had evacuated by the time police found Brown in the back of the building. He surrendered without further incident.

Brown allegedly shot Aaron Huey, 25, who was identified as another subcontractor for Save-A-Lot. He was taken to the hospital with a wound to the lower portion of his body and is expected to recover, police said.

Tampa, Florida - 53-year-old Randy White was arrested on Suspicion of Driving Under the Influence around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 in the area of Ashley Drive and I-275.

Bishop Randy White led Without Walls International Church for years before stepping down in 2009.

His ex-wife Pastor Paula White took over as Senior Pastor of the mega church which is located at 2511 Grady Avenue North near Tampa International Airport.

Sorority house peeper busted at USF

Tampa, Florida -- Earlier this month, during a routine patrol of the Greek Village complex on the USF Tampa campus, USF officers noticed something unusual.

They watched a man walk into an unlit area beside the Kappa Delta sorority house, crouch down and peer into a lower window. The officers confronted him and he said his name was Francis Patrick Nelson.

The suspect explained to the officers that he was looking for someone, but could only provide a first name, and no last name or other contact information.
