Police investigate bank robbery

Plant City, FL -- The Plant City Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday morning an area bank.

According to detectives, around 10:50 a.m., the Valrico State Bank, located at 305 S. Wheeler St., was the target of an armed robber. No one was injured during the robbery.

Man arrested for Sept 2010 fatal traffic accident

Lithia, FL -- A Lithia man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a fatal traffic accident in September 2010.

After a year-long investigation, detectives found that 20-year-old Timothy Ryan Hammock was the driver responsible for the accident that killed 20-year-old Heather Layton, of Plant City, and left four others with extensive injuries.

Tampa, FL -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help identifying the robber pictured above.

According to detectives, on Oct. 25, around 6:43 a.m., the man entered the store with a knife and approached the clerk demanding money and cigarettes.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money and several cartons of cigarettes, he fled on foot northbound from the store.

Women arrested over YouTube girls fight video

Wimauma, Florida -- Deputies say two women were arrested for an online video that shows them coaxing two girls in a fight.

Nidia Longoria, 28, and Veronica Zertuche, 26, are both charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. 

In video posted on YouTube, deputies say family members are seen encouraging two girls two fight.  One of the girls is Zertuche's daughter, and the other is Longoria's sister. Deputies do not know who posted the video to the Internet.

Credit card skimmer found in SunTrust ATM

Plant City, FL -- On Sunday, Oct. 2, Plant City police found a suspicious device attached to a Plant City SunTrust ATM.

Officers say the device was a scanner and camera outfitted with a remote transmitter typically used to capture credit card and Personal Identification numbers.

It is unknown how long the device was attached to the ATM.
