Driver sought in deadly hit and run crash in Ruskin

Ruskin, Florida -- Hillsborough County Traffic Homicide investigators are asking for the public's help locating the driver and vehicle involved in the deadly hit and run of a bicyclist in Ruskin.

Detectives say around 7:00 p.m., 56-year-old Antonio Leon was riding his blue and silver bicycle west on 21st Avenue approaching his home in the 600 block of 21 Avenue S.E. when he was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle heading west on the road around 45 - 55 mph.

The suspect's vehicle left the scene westbound on 21st Avenue. An intake airbox from a 2003 - 2005 Saturn Ion was left at he scene. 

Detectives say a witness described the vehicle as being green in color. There is most likely front end damage to the car with possible blue or silver paint transferred onto it from the bicycle.
