Seffner man indicted for mother's murder

Seffner, FL -- A Grand Jury indicted Kevin Lee Kyne for the Aug. 15 murder of his mother.

Kyne lives on West Wheeler Road in Seffner. At the time of his mother's death he lived in Seminole.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's office is handling the murder case.

The Sheriff's office said late Thursday a Grand Jury indicted Kevin Kyne for first degree murder in the death of Diane Kyne.

Upon receiving the indictment, Judge Frank Quesada immediately took him into custody. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on Thursday night.

Back in August, he was arrested and charged with first degree murder for the strangulation of his 49-year-old mother Diane.

Kevin Kyne was charged with murder, but later was released from jail without posting any bond when the Pinellas State Attorney's Office said the investigation into the murder was continuing and that there was some doubt as to Kyne's involvement.

William Kyne, Kevin Kyne's stepfather, told Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives that an argument between his wife, Diane, and stepson, ended with Kevin killing his mother.
