Hearing postponed for teacher accused of lewd molestation

Tampa, FL - Tammy Clinton of Odessa, who was charged with two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation and two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct on Feb. 4 2010, appeared in Hillsborough County Court today for a deposition. She was originally booked at Orient Road Jail in West Tampa

Clinton, who will turn 40 years old this week, was a 6th grade teacher at Farnell Middle School when she allegedly asked a 14-year-old student to fondle her breasts and buttocks in January of 2010. In addition, on two other occasions, she attempted to entice the victim to meet her off of the school campus, which is located between East Lake and Westchase, for the purpose of committing specific sexual acts on the victim.

The investigation began as a result of the victimized student confiding in an adult that brought it to the attention of law enforcement. She was arrested by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

When she appeared this morning, she attempted to avoid the cameras as her attorney Andrew Schein requested a new deposition, which was granted for next month. Clinton will appear for her hearing at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2011.
