DUI enforcement to increase during holidays

Temple Terrace, FL - This year, The Temple Terrace Police Department plans to crack down on drunk and drugged drivers during the holiday season. The Holiday Impaired Driving Campaign will have officers throughout the USF-Temple Terrace area stepping up efforts to arrest DUI offenders through December.

Florida's "Over The Limit, Under Arrest" campaign to reduce DUI-related accidents corresponds with the local initiative, which is split into two phases. The first began Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 11, while the second will begin Dec. 16 and continue through the first of the year.

Temple Terrace Police Department forces will host a multi-agency DUI checkpoint on Bullard Parkway east of 56th Street on Friday, Dec. 17. A partnership with the Florida Highway Patrol for a "Wolf-Pack Saturation Patrol" program will take place after the checkpoint, and TTPD will focus on the Temple Terrace area.

The zero-tolerance policy regarding impaired driving is an ongoing priority for the department, which puts forth constant efforts to maintain public safety on area roadways.
